The Dickinson Area Public Library (hereinafter “Library”) desires to minimize health risks associated with food allergies in the community, by adopting food policies consistent with those of other public institutions, including public schools. Accordingly, in view of the prevalence and negative health risks resulting from peanut and tree nut allergies, the Library adopts the following:
- The Library will decline to serve any snacks or refreshments known to contain peanuts or tree nuts at Library sponsored programs or events.
- Event or program information disseminated by the Library will include a request that Patrons not bring additional snacks containing peanuts and/or tree nuts.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Library operates a facility open to the public, and disclaims any responsibility or liability to members of the public for contact with peanut and tree nut products on its premises.
