Dickinson Man Arrested For Child Sexual Offenses

**MEDIA RELEASE**A Dickinson man was taken into custody by detectives yesterday afternoon after an extensive investigation into numerous child sexual offenses. The investigation, which began in late January of this year, identified 26-year-old JOSHUA CARL QUALLS as a primary suspect in the offenses. Between the years 2021-2022, QUALLS allegedly had sexual contact with a child under the age of 15. He is also accused of utilizing electronic means to transmit sexually explicit imagery to a child under the age of 15. QUALLS was taken into custody after an interview at the Public Safety Center and transported to the Southwest Multi-County Correctional Center. In coordination with the Stark County State’s Attorney, QUALLS is facing four counts of Gross Sexual Imposition and two counts of Luring Minors By Computer or Other Electronic Means. Gross Sexual Imposition is a Class AA Felony and carries a potential punishment of life in prison.Luring by Electronic Means is a Class B Felony with a potential punishment of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. QUALLS remains in custody awaiting a bond hearing and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
